Good Day!

It has been a great day!! I went to the apple store to have my ipod that I got for Christmas 2006 looked at. It has never worked right, I have always had issues with it. Well lucky me that honored the one year warranty even though it is a month and a half past the warranty. I guess my sob story and me with my 2 kiddos sold him. So I got a brand new Refurb Ipod! I am super pumped!!

Returned a pair of Robeez that we got as a gift for Beck to Nordstrom and they are shipping me (free of charge) the correct size. I love Norsdstrom, you don't get the level of customer service that they provide anywhere else.

Then I went to the Gap (you always have to check to see if anything is on sale) and I found a perfect pair of jeans on sale for $11.99. They are even the right length-petite. Not that I am a petite girl by any means but I have short legs. Woo Hoo!!

Aubrey ate a huge breakfast & lunch. I always have to be thankful for that since my little 26 pounder is so petite. And she took a nap today at her nap time, Tuesday & Wednesday she refused to nap and then finally collapsed at 5:30pm. Now if I could just get the Beckster to sleep longer than 20 minutes, he is my catnapper.

Only drawback today was I couldn't get into the Pilates class today again b/c the infant daycare was booked. They will only take 8 infants at a time, I should have scheduled him sooner again. And the last 2 weeks I haven't been able to go b/c Aubrey & Beck have been to sick to take them to the daycare. One day the stars will all align and I will get to go.

And I have the CUTEST baby boy in the whold wide world. I took these of Beck on my bed this afternoon. He is the smiliest baby ever!! And he is practicing sitting up, he can only do it for a few seconds but once he realizes that he is the one doing it he will master it.

Is this not the cutest baby boy ever? Really!

I really am so blessed!!

Too cute!!

Aubrey just did the cutest thing. I heard her singing on the monitor, she is suppose to be napping, while I am waiting on the ECI people to show up (more on that later). I go up to put her back to bed and she is sitting up in her bed rocking & singing to her Bitty Baby. It is the cutest thing ever. So I got her to lay down with Bitty and I covered them both up for a nap. I think that she might be the cutest & sweetest little girl EVER. ;)

SESAME STREET LIVE!!!

Jenna & Bree

Beckster & Brad

Aubrey & her B-daddy

We took the kiddos to Sesame Street Live on Sunday afternoon with our friends Brian (or as Aubrey says B-daddy) & Soriya (Momma) and their 3 year old little girl Jenna (Nenna). The girls had so much fun!! Here are some highlights...but I think that Aubrey might have been more excited about the flag/pennant that she got afterwards.

More inportantly we went to Trudy's afterwards for some excellent Mexican Martini's. They are so good they only let you have 2, oh yeah they have pretty good food too. Overall great day and we were all home by 8:30 pm.

And yes I realize that I have 2 thumb suckers, neither one of them has ever or would ever take a binky. No matter how hard Shelly tries or how many binkys she buys. I really have tried to get Beck to take a binky mostly because as Aubrey is getting older I am realizing how hard it is going to be to get her to stop but he would have nothing to do with it just like his sister. :(

Update on Aubrey

Aubrey's hives are getting much better, they were all gone tonight when she went to bed. Saturday night she was getting worse with hives covering 95% of her little body so the pediatrican called in some Prednisone for us, finally. Sunday she still had some spots, she looked like she had the chikenpox, but she was feeling better and seemed to have more energy so we took her to SSL pluse we had already spent $50-some bucks on nonrefundable tickets so someone was going. This morning she had another pretty bad flair up they must have been pretty itchy she was scratching them and making them worse. Poor little thing. Hopefully we will be hive free tomorrow-good thing we have Kindermusik.

And the Drama continues...

Aubrey woke up this morning covered head to toe with red welts. She is allergic to Zithromax apparently. We went back to the doc & back to Walgreen's, the doc has changed her antibiotic again. The kids coughs are getting better slowly but we still have really snotty noses. And Beck is still a little wheezy. One day they will be well again, one day...

Vomit and my life

Can someone mention to Beck that it is totally uncool and uncalled for to vomit on Mommy? I have told him several times but he is just not listening to me. He got me really good this afternoon after a marathon feeding session. He just keeps coughing that the poor little guy gets all choked up and throws up. He soaked me so much that I had to change all of my clothes, and I mean all of them. Fun, huh? He also got me really good Sunday night after he had an entire jar of green beans and some apples. He also totally ruined a pillow at B-Daddy's house. I guess I can attribute some of this to his weight loss. Anyone want to hold Beck for me after he eats?

I think this is a completely appropriate topic for Valentine's Day. ;)

Chest X-ray Update

Beck's chest xray came back negative for Pneumonia, so that is great. We go back to the doc on Friday for a follow up to see if this round of antibiotics are working and I am going to ask her to test him for RSV. Beck and I locked ourselves in the bathroom with the shower going extra hot, hopefully it will help him sleep better.

Oh, What a day we've had...

Okay, so Beck had his 6 month well baby visit today and we were off to the doctor. Beck isn't feeling much better still so the doc didn't give him his shots, he has still had a high fever, head & chest congestion, cough & wheezing. We changed antibiotics for both Beck & Aubrey as their sinus infections are still going and we go back to the doc on Friday for a follow up. And the doc ordered a chest xray for Beck at the hospital. She also did a Pertussis (Whooping Cough) test, but the results won't be back for 2 weeks, and in case he has it the new anitbiotics will cover the Pertussis. So we went next door to the hospital and had Beck's xray done, he had fallen asleep in my arms waiting so they didn't have to put him in that acrylic contraption that holds him down, Thank God. We are currently waiting the results of the xray the doc is suppose to call me this afternoon, I will update you all as soon as I know something.

Beck's stats from his 6 month well baby visit 27 inches long (75%), head 44 cm (50%) and his weight was only 14 lbs 6.4 oz (5-10%) he has lost some weight with this sickness, the other reason that I am worried about him. He was in the 25% percentile for weight at his 3 month check up. His length & head are the same percentile as before so that is good.

Then of course we had to go by the SBUX drivethru (see Monday's blog). And then we were off to Walgreen's the other place I go to as much as Starbucks (feels like it anyway). I decided to take the kiddos into the store in the double stroller so I could wait for the Rx's and pick up my sweetie a Val's day card (I'm such a procrastinator). The doc mentioned giving Beck Benedryl and Aubrey Claritin for their allergies, during high allergy seasons like now in Austin with the Cedar Fever. So while I was waiting in line there was a Zyrtec display just next to me and I picked up a plastic bottle in a box of the new over the counter Children's Zyrtec to take a look at it and compare it to the Claritin that I already had picked up. Decided not to get it and I put it back on the display shelf and of course it fell off, so I picked it up again and the clear super sticky liquid starts spilling out of the box onto my hand and so I cuped my other hand underneath it to keep it contained. That didn't work very well so I am spilling an entire bottle of Children's Zyrtec all over the floor and I have to ask the clerk who is helping another customer for some help. She gives me a plastic bag and then comes back with some paper towels. I felt so cool cleaning up the floor of Walgreen's. Very classic Jen-very proud moment.

Decided to get out of Walgreen's, go home, feed Aubrey some lunch and all take a much deserved nap.

Oh yeah, at the hospital Beck was getting a little plastic braclet thing on his ankle and of course Aubrey was upset that she didn't get one so the nurse put a blank one on Aubrey's ankle too. She can con anyone out of anything-you should see her work her Daddy, he is totally wrapped around her little finger.

Aubrey cheeseing it up for the camera b/c I got it out to take a picture of their ankles.

The sweetest baby boy ever taking a nap on my bed, Poor guy he just feels rotten.

Yoga Yoga

So I attended my first Yoga class at our new awesome gym Lifetime Fitness. And it ROCKED!! I just discovered that 1) I love Yoga!! & 2) I am not as flexible or well balanced as I thought. But that is why I am going to go to Yoga to work on those issues. Tomorrow I am going to try Pilates...hope I like it as much as Yoga.

Venti Nonfat No Water Chai Tea Latte, Please!

That is my daily Starbucks order, it is my fav. Aubrey has probably heard me make my order a million times. So tonight the fam made an exciting trip to Sam's and then we stopped at Sbux on the way home. Brad was ordering my tea and his Grande Americano, and from the back I here Aubrey, "I wanna Chai, no wadder." "My Chai" she says. I told her that it was "Mommy's Chai". She protested more "I wanna Chai". It was so cute, I told her that I would get here some juice as soon as we got home, she seemed okay with the juice, but she really wants my Chai Tea and I'm not going to let her have it. My addiction is bad enough. Aubrey is a 2 year old going on 30, Great!

Jerry always says the longer it takes you to order your drink at Starbucks the more HIGH maintenance you are. I am one of those girls that has never claimed to be LOW maintenance, I will be the first to tell you that I am High maintenance. Brad knows it, he knew it before he married me. And now he is stuck with me for better or worse, in sickness (flu) and health, as long as we both shall live. I am happy with that!!

Sunshine

Beck & Daddy spent a few minutes outside on the back porch Saturday afternoon. We thought with all the sickness going around that they could use some good ol' sunshine, plus is was like 80 degrees this afternoon. And we had to try out Beck's new shades, of course Aubrey has pink ones just like them but she was napping.

The Beckster

HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY BECK!!

The Beckster turned 6 months old today and I can't believe it. We are half way to ONE, man that flew by. I am still coming to grips that I have 2 kids, I feel like I just found out that I was prego with Aubrey. Time is going by so fast my head is spinning.

Here you go Beck, Happy 6 months old. I love you!!

Update on Dee Dee

Just wanted you all to know that Dee Dee has been able to locate a liquor store. And it will be 33 below zero tonight in Canada and with the wind blowing around 28 km it will feel like 66 below and that is Farenheit. Ha Ha!! :)

The Blessing

In Brad's family Nini started this family tradition a few years ago of passing this framed Blessing around in the family. It is given at Christmas and it is noted on the back of the frame which family had the Blessing for that year. It started out as kind of a joke because Shelly & I found out that NiNi got the Blessing from Jacolyn's goodwill pile. But let me just say we are keeping the Blessing FOREVER! I am not giving it up this year at Christmas. I taunted the Blessing and for that I am sorry because it is working wonders for us this year and it is only February. First we found out that an issue regarding Aubrey might be settled in a few months. And we found out from our realtor that we might be getting an offer on our house in El Valle (spanish for the valley, Rio Grande that is). I feel like 2 huge weights are soon to be lifted off my shoulders & heart. These 2 issues have been major stresses in Brad & my lives they last 2 years/months. We are so excited to have both over with. So Blessing, I am sorry that I taunted & teased you. I will never doubt your power & strength. Thank you for these Blessings and many more to come. The Blessing reads:

A Blessing For You

In all things,

call on God for His perfect

peace and understanding...

knowing that all hope and happiness is through Him.

Mossy Oak

Mossy Oak is the type of Camoflauge for Beck's new big boy carseat. What!?! There are types of camoflauge you ask, silly me I thought the same thing. I let Brad pick it out, it wouldn't be something that I would choose but I am trying to let Brad pick out some of the boy stuff. Anyway I am sick and tired of carrying around the huge & heavy carrier carseat so we are moving the Beckster to his Britax this week.

And of course I had to get some pics of Aubrey. Whenever I get the camera out she says "My cheese", she calls cameras cheese, and she poses and grins.

Dee Dee's Adventures in Canada...Ay!

This is an excerpt from an email that Dee Dee sent about Canada. I am LMAO!!!! Yeah, don't think that we will be making the trek to Canada until July or until all the snow melts. I still laugh out loud everytime I read this email.

Anita, the VP called from Calgary. She told the office we are to be getting blizzard conditions in 24 - 48 hours. Great, because it is already supposed to be 24 below ZERO Saturday night, ladies and that is in FARENHEIT.

I have a few questions:

1. What the firetruck is a blizzard?
2. Where is the liquor store?
3. What the firetruck is a blizzard?
4. Where is the liquor store?
5. See question #1.
6. See question #2.

Tara can't wait. She is ready for a "couch" day. I had to ask what that was, because I couldn't understand what she said when she said the word "couch." It sounded like she kept saying she can't wait to take a "coach" day. So, I thought, a Coach? Like the purse? Like what Cinderella rode in? Is a Coach day something Canadians call a comp day?

Geeeeeez......... Oh I get it!!!! A SOFA day!

Snacktime!

I found this apple & apple corer on the counter after Aubrey got up from her nap...maybe I should start feeding her more often. I heard her open the fridge but she usually doesn't get her own food out until now. So we split an apple today at snacktime and it was "Nummy"!!

In Memory of Brad..

Those of you that wish to pay their last respects to Brad please leave your comments here or call him on his cell, apparently he is on his deathbed with the flu. Many a times in the last couple of days he has said that he was dying-such a man, can't handle a little sniffle & fever.

House of Sickness

So Brad wasn't feeling so well last night, he went to bed with a fever. Woke up feeling even worse so I took him to the doctor and he has the FLU. Even thought we all got flu shots, minus the Beckster, he got it anyway. Luckily I was able to schedule Beck for an appointment across the hall with the pediatrician at the same time and his viral infection has now turned into a horrible sinus infection. We got Tamiflu for Brad & Antibiotics for Beck. Maybe one day we will all be well again.

Sleeping Beauties!!

My boys catching a few zzzz's this afternoon.

Can't see the hand in front of my face.

So Brad said that I finally could look into Lasik this year as we maxed out our flexible spending account because I am blind as a bat, really. So I called a location here in Austin to have that free consultation to see if I am eligible for Lasik. I was told that I had to wait 6 weeks after I stopped breastfeeding because of the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy & breastfeeding. Are you kidding me? Ugh!! So frustrating...on top of everything I have been wearing my glasses since Saturday when the red eye started. I am sick of wearing my glasses already, wish that I could pop my contacts in or better yet see without anything. One of these days...

Are you freakin' kidding me?

I have pink eye!! What, you say. Yep, I woke up this morning with my eye matted shut and I stumbled to the bathroom and realized that I have a bright red gross eye with green ooze. So I called my doc and got some antibiotic eye drops. Hopefully I won't share this with the kids as freely as they shared their viral infection with me. So I am going to put off going to the gym that Brad & I joined on Thursday night for a few days til this clears up. Check out Lifetime Fitness.
Brad says that it is nicer than Sky Gym in Tulsa. I have to get in better shape, I realized the other day that I have been either pregnant or breastfeeding (minus a few months before I got prego with Beck) since December 2004. That is like 3 years folks-and I plan to breastfeed Beck until August or until he starts biting.
